2. General information:

A field with stone ash surface in the city of Kuhmo, built in the 60’s. Active activity since the 1960s, activated again in the 2010s. There are several planes on the ground. In the summer of 2011, a new brave sheet metal hall was built on the field, which is electrified. In 2021, a warm clubhouse was built from CLT elements, to which running water has also been drawn. It is also possible to stay in the building by contacting the club members. The club also has a Wi-Fi network. The field also has a neat outdoor toilet.  It is about 5 km to the city center and club members will be happy to help you with transport and fuel needs.

4. The Airport:

Airfield is being maintained and serviced actively. Stone dust surface is some 15 meters wide and it is rolled frequently. Airfield has electric supply and asphalt areas for parking and run up’s. Electricity available since 2012 as well as asphalt on the parking area

6. Sight seeing and services

Kuhmo wilderness views are magnificent from air. Restaurants and accommodation can be found in the town center. Winter war battle fields can be recognized from the air. Please note that they mostly reside on ADIZ area and require a filed flight plan. You can try shooting rapids in Kuhmo center Pajakkakoski or some 10 kms away at Lentuankoski. Nature center Petola has a permanent exhibition of Finnish nature and Juminkeko presents Karelian culture. The Kuhmo house with chamber music festival and award-winning library Atalante are worth seeing. There is also a winter war museum just next to hotel Kalevala.
