The field was visited 03.09.2014, and a report on the condition of the field follows: ” we flew to the field with a low-wing ultra. There were no landing not allowed-markings to be seen, and as the surface of the field seemed to be in order, we landed without problems. The grass had been cut, and the runway seemed to be well maintained. Along the runway there were slight tracks, which however did not hamper manoeuvering. Two hangars on the field, a new and an old one, were empty.”

1. General information:
The field is situated by highway No:4 to the north of Viitasaari, some 4 kilometres from Viitasaari center. On the field there are two hangars, a grill shelter, and a WC. In the winter activities with ski-equipped aircraft.
2. The Airport:
The runway is grass surfaced, the lenght of grass varies (it is advisable to check by phoning the airfield manager). The apron is gravel surfaced and hard. To the west of tha field low bushes, to the east agricultural fields. The total length of the field is 800 metres (the distance between the thresholds is short, because the high trees to the north restricted the use of the runway). The tree cluster to the north has now been cut down, so the whole length of the runway is now usable. Take-off can now be safely performed in both directions. No winter maintenance.
