1. General information:
The southernmost airfield of Finland eight kilometres from the centre of Hanko city. The local flying club Hangon Lentokerho flies in this field, sometimes the Military forces also use the field for UAV activities. Usually, however, a fairly calm airfield. Flyers using the field are requested to note the shooting ranges D47 (Syndalen) and D44, and the noise abatement area along the waterfront. Additionally, touch-and-go landings should be avoided after 20.00 o’clock. Southeasterly winds create some turbulence in the field.
2. The Airport:
Runway 03 somewhat pitted before the threshold, where the taxiway to the hangar begins. Aircraft must not touch down before the threshold line. Otherwise the runway is in good condition, except for some pits and bumps. The taxiway from the end of 03 to the parking area, and the taxiway from the threshold of 03 are in good condition. Taxiways parallel to the runway are permanently closed.
