2. General information:
An airfield cleared for the use of gold diggers in the early 1950s on a plateau located near the lake of the fell on its eastern side. Board-built “terminal” as a warehouse and library for gold diggers, limited overnight accommodation. However, there is a fireplace in the booth. Nearby gold mines and mining districts: peace of mind recommended. Even though the field is no longer among the official airports, the order rule of Lemmenjoki National Park still allows landing on the field. In other words, the land owner still has permission to use the field. The Kullakaivajaliitto has decided to start taking care of the field together with Martiniiskopalo, and contact persons will be appointed for the fields. Behind the fell, along Miessijoki, there is a private airfield, pictures of which are here:pic 1, pic 2.

Not recommended for nose wheel planes or inexperienced pilots, advance visits with a pilot who knows the field possible (bush pilots). You can inquire about the condition of the field from the Kullanakaivajat association (link below).
