The field is situated 20 km from Oulu toward Kajaani, close to the boundary of the Muhos municipality. In the summer field activities include gliding, ultralight flying, aeromodelling, and paragliding. Tow parachuting is also gaining in popularity. Sometimes lightplanes also come to practice on the field. There is an outdoor toilet and a sauna in the field. However, the narrow edge areas of the runway are a bit soft, especially in spring, and you should not taxi off the runway, because the area surrounding the runway is very uneven and soft. An asphalted taxiway leads from the runway to the platform approx. 200m from the 30-threshold.
